The object

IC 410 is an emission nebula in Auriga, known for the small elongated structures often referred to as ‘tadpoles’. These formations sit within a broader hydrogen-rich field, giving the region both large-scale structure and finer points of interest.

The appeal of the object lies in that contrast: a wide, diffuse glow punctuated by smaller, more defined shapes that reward a closer look without demanding one.

Capture notes

The image is primarily rendered in SHO, with around eight hours per narrowband channel. An additional RGB dataset was used for the stars to keep them more natural within the field.

Processing

Processing focused on maintaining overall balance without pushing contrast or saturation too far, allowing the structure to remain the primary element.

A secondary version in HSS was explored as an alternative interpretation of the same data. It was not the initial intent, but it offered a different perspective and was kept as part of the process.
