The object

NGC 7000 and IC 5070 form one of the more recognisable regions in Cygnus, with shapes that have acquired familiar names over time. Beneath that, the area is defined by a dense network of emission and dark lanes that benefit from a wider field of view.

A SHO palette helps separate the different structures within the nebulae, making the underlying patterns more readable without relying purely on brightness.

Capture notes

This is a widefield SHO composition processed from Telescope Live data. The colour balance ended up slightly more saturated than intended, but it felt more honest to leave it as it was rather than force it back into something flatter.

Processing

Processing focused on maintaining balance across the field while letting the structure carry most of the image. With regions like this, it is easy to lean too heavily on colour and lose the underlying detail.

The aim was to keep the image cohesive, allowing the different regions to remain distinct without feeling disconnected from one another.
